Glow 04:23
Fire in the troposphere Brighter than the sun Tickling in your ear A sucking in your lung Look at the beautiful glow Glow on the horizon Beauty to melt our flesh Beauty that burns our eyes Everyone you love Everything you know Burning in the firestorm In the afterglow Look at the beautiful glow Glow on the horizon Beauty to melt our flesh Beauty that burns our eyes

Ashes 04:10
The burning in your eyes Is billions of lives Raining down in a cloud Like insecticide The sun in the sky Is a bloody eye Silent witness to the fall The end of our time Ashes filling our lungs Crystallize Ashes choking our guns No one left to fight Ashes filling our lungs Crystallize Ashes choking our guns No one left to fight The bodies, getting thinner Stomach bloating, deadly winter Charred trees, hollow eyes Skeletal faces, last trace of the human race
4.
Magpie 03:29
Black wings will never fly Laughing song will not sing again I suck the bones, now nothing's left I'm stuck in this hole until my death I'll see you eat crow first I'll see you eat crow first I'll see you eat crow first I'll see you eat crow first
5.
Dustmen 04:57
Their ships light up the sky The Dustmen smell death Of a smoking ruin called Earth This is where they land Dustmen are coming Raking through the debris of us Another world is dead Dustmen are coming Salvaging what's left Silently gliding over the wreckage Dressed in grey rags Unseen eyes beneath their hoods Scanning the wasted sand Dustmen are coming Picking up the bones in the rubbish Another civilization's trash Dustmen are coming They must do but they don't love it The humans pissed on all they had Dustmen are going Quiet army of inhuman mummies Catalog the specimen Dustmen are going They're done but they don't love it The humans pissed on all they had Picking up the shattered pieces Put them in their bags Morbid collectors of our artifacts All that's left now is ash Ash Ash Ash Ash
6.
Dead Lights 05:29
This is the end The end of life Can you see the lights? No, I can't see For I have no eyes And I can't scream, the air is rarified The gossamer dream that I had a life It cannot be, for I'm just a light Dead lights Dead lights All of our lights Wander the Earth A last dance for planet Dirt An unending dream we cannot wake from Dead lights Dead lights Dead lights Dead lights These are the lights of the dead There is no life for the damned Wake up!

about

Set firmly in the Doom genre, Planet Dirt is a song cycle about the end of humankind. However, this is no “Mad Max” post-apocalypse. In this future, humanity and all life, is scoured from the face of the planet. Only aliens that archive the remnants of our civilization and then the souls of the dead are left. It’s truly a future without hope.

Originally recorded in 2010 and available for a few years on Bandcamp, Shane was never satisfied with the production. He pulled the album several years back, with the intention of reworking the material. It has been extensively revamped, with new drums, new synths and additional guitar overdubs recorded. Additionally, the master isn’t overly loud, allowing for more dynamic range and clarity. Those whose ears are use to being battered by the so-called “loudness wars” may perceive the audio to be quiet. We assure you, it’s now better sounding and heavier than ever.

Download includes a PDF lyric booklet and two 4k wallpapers.

Shane Edward Semler has been a bedroom producer since the early 90s, bouncing between electronic and guitar driven work. Planet Dirt is his heaviest and most blatantly Metal album to date. This required a new, appropriately Metal moniker, Harbinger of Storms. Expect more in the near future.
